 Virtual Tour

On May 26, 2004, the Authority purchased a parcel of land consisting of 75.83 acres to be used for the construction of the new multicounty jail facility.  The site is located off U. S. Rte. 1 approximately two miles south of the Lincoln County Court House.  Construction of the jail commenced in February of 2005.  Construction was completed in November 2006, and the first inmates arrived November 25, 2006.  The jail has the capacity for housing up to 170 inmates.  Daily occupancy averages around 110 inmates, which includes 23 Department of Corrections inmates, and an estimated 15 to 20 boarders from other counties. The jail is located at 522 Bath Road in Wiscasset.
